Ending Modern Slavery in All Forms
In every country, on every continent, men, women and children are trapped in jobs into which they were coerced or deceived and cannot leave. These are not workers; they are human trafficking victims. Globally, the International Labor Organization estimates that at any given time 27.6 million people are in trapped (Open Link in new window)in conditions of exploitation, working under threat or coercion as domestic workers, on construction sites, in factories, on farms and in the commercial sex industry.
Through innovative programs, collaborative partnerships and policy advocacy, the McCain Institute’s Combatting Human Trafficking program drives systemic change and implements comprehensive, action-based solutions to prevent and end all forms of modern slavery.
Through our work, we develop and deploy strategic initiatives to secure justice for victims, build the capacity of trafficking response networks, facilitate leadership from trafficking survivors, leverage investigative journalism and data analytics to inform trafficking interventions, and cultivate emerging best practices in the field through learning convenings.
